Water sports and activities

The Lake District is a great location for water sports with many opportunities for sailing, water sking, kayaking and canoeing. Or you can simply enjoy the larger lakes on a pleasure cruise.

Windermere, the largest of the lakes is non tidal and since the speed ban came into force in 2005 has become a paradise for sailors. At Windermere as well as Keswick and Glenridding you can hire equipment and have instruction.

Glenridding Sailing Centre - Get yourself afloat amongst the stunning scenery of Ullswater in the English Lake District! The Glenridding Sailing Centre provides a wide range of sailing dinghies & traditional boats, canoes & kayaks for hire to club members *You may join the Club the day you arrive for a fee of £1 (day membership) or £20 (annual membership)

Low Wood Watersports and Activity Centre - Low Wood Watersports and Activity Centre, with it's large lake frontage and extensive range of equipment, is a great location for Waterskiing, Wakesurfing, Sailing, Kayaking/Canoeing and Boat Hire.
